FNB ECD Charity Project

What is FNB Doing in partnership with ECD

FNB is focusing on early childhood development as a commitment to build our nation with the aim to help provide excellent education for the young children of South Africa.

The goal is to ensure that our children are given the correct stimulation, nutrition, love and safety to give them the best chance of success when they enter the formal education system.
FNB aims to adopt 5000 ECD Centers to improve child stimulation levels.
The objective is to:

  • Facilitate training for practitioners
  • Provide quality nutrition for children
  • Provide training aids, books and toys for the children
  • Improve infrastructure at the Centers.

FNB has embarked on a number of initiatives for ECD to create awareness, raise funds and to drive adoption of ECD Centers throughout South Africa.

What is ECD?
ECD refers to Early Childhood Development for children aged 0 – 6 years. It is during these years that children prepare for formal schooling.

ECD has been given high priority in South Africa with the hope of giving all young children from different areas and backgrounds access to early learning programmes.
