Border of the Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces near the towns of Mashishing (Lydenburg), Roossenekal and Steelpoort.

Introduction:
The mine is located on the southernmost exposure of the eastern limb of the Bushveld complex with 80% of its resources in the Mpumalanga Province. The mine has a board and pillar mining layout and operates with the trackless mechanized mining equipment. Booysendal is a subsidiary of the JSE-listed Northam Platinum Limited, a well-established, mid-tier independent and integrated platinum group metals producer with strong tradition of innovation and technical expertise in the sector.

DIESEL MECHANIC
DEPARTMENT: ENGINEERING

POSITION PURPOSE
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible to maintain, repair, overhaul and construct engineering equipment, facilities and structures to support the Engineering department to achieve its operational goals and objectives.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Engineering installations are constructed, repaired and maintained according to agreed standards, policies and procedures
• Continuously analyses and identify opportunities to minimize wastage.
• Ensure that safety regulations are adhered to.
• Work standby and overtime.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERISNCE AND CAPABILITIES
• Diesel Mechanic trade certificate – Section 13/26 (D)
• Minimum Grade 12 or N3
• English language proficiency
• Driver’s license – code B, EB or C1
• Medical Certificate of fitness
• Competent working in confined spaces
• No major sensory restrictions
• Familiar with risk assessment procedures
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a qualified artisan in TMM environment (advantageous)
• Own transport
